Create/edit email accounts in Outlook 97 or 98
NOTE: Outlook 97 DOES NOT normally support SMTP
Authentication! This functionality can be added by installing the
Internet Mail Enhancement Patch, available for download from
Microsoft's website. Lock-Net requires SMTP Authentication so if you CANNOT install the Internet Mail Enhancement
Patch, you will need to either upgrade to Outlook 2000 or use a
different email client that will support SMTP Authentication.
- Open Microsoft Outlook
- Go to Tools ==> Services
- Services
- If "Internet Mail" is an installed service, simply
double-click it and proceed to the next step.
- If "Internet Mail" is not in the box, it will need to be
added. To do this, click the "Add" button and double-click
"Internet Mail". Double-click the installed "Internet Mail"
service and proceed to the next step.
